Why choose detachable sleeves?

Modularity is in. A bride wants to feel free.
Detachable sleeves offer the incredible freedom to change your style without spending a fortune on a second dress.

  • For the ceremony: They elegantly cover your shoulders and arms, respecting the dress codes of places of worship or providing just the right amount of warmth.
  • For the party: Simply remove them (or change them!) to enjoy complete freedom of movement on the dance floor.
They are also the perfect solution for brides who feel a little self-conscious about their arms but have fallen in love with a strapless dress.

What style should you choose for your dress?

The goal is for the sleeves to look like an integral part of the dress. The overall look must be perfectly harmonious.

  • Bohemian Spirit (Balloon Sleeves): Made from soft tulle or organza, they add romantic volume around the shoulder and taper at the wrist. This is the number one choice for complementing a simple, flowing dress.
  • Vintage Elegance (Lace): Fitted sleeves in fine lace that create a "tattoo" effect on the skin. Ideal for adding sophistication to a minimalist crepe or satin dress.
  • Modern Chic (Draped): Simple strips of tulle or chiffon that fall casually over the upper arm (off-the-shoulder style). It is the detail that instantly makes a strapless dress look more couture.

How do they stay on? (The atelier's technique)

This is your biggest concern: "What if they fall off while I'm walking?".
That won't happen. We have developed invisible yet secure fastening systems.
Depending on the style, we use:

  1. Grippy silicone elastic: Hidden inside the top of the sleeve, it adheres to the skin (like stay-up stockings) without restricting circulation.
  2. Transparent snap fasteners: For certain styles, we provide tiny snap buttons to sew (or have sewn) under the edge of your dress for an absolute "click" of security.

Matching colors and fabrics

"Will they clash with my dress?"
Our designers select tulles and laces in "Natural White" or "Light Ivory" shades that match most modern wedding dresses (bluish optic white is almost non-existent in bohemian styles anymore).
The transparency of the tulle or lace works in your favor: by revealing the skin, the fabric blends visually with the rest of the dress, even if there is a slight difference in dye lot from your dress. That is the advantage of an accessory over solid fabric.

FAQ: Your questions about removable handles

How do I measure my arms for the sleeves?

It's very simple, but it does require precision. We need your arm circumference (at the fullest part of the bicep) and the desired length.
For the elasticated removable sleeves, don't cheat! Give us the exact measurement without pulling the tape measure tight. The workshop will add the necessary ease so that the elastic stays in place without leaving marks on the skin.

Can I add sleeves to any dress?

Yes, as long as the dress has bare shoulders (strapless or thin straps).
It's the perfect complement to a mermaid dress or a flowy strappy dress. However, avoid adding sleeves to a dress that already has small sleeves or wide shoulders, as it would overcomplicate the silhouette.

Does it itch?

Never at our place. As with our veils, we use soft tulle ("soft tulle") and soft lace. We know that this area (the inside of the arm) is sensitive to chafing. Comfort is our technical priority.

Can you wear them just for the photos?

Of course! It's photographers' favorite prop. The movement of the tulle in the wind or the detail of the lace in a close-up adds incredible texture to couple shots. It's an affordable "editorial" prop.
