Your Custom-Made Wedding Dress: The Online Atelier Experience

Buying your wedding dress online can be daunting. That's normal, it's human — and that's exactly why we've completely reimagined the experience.

At Atelier-Mariage.fr, we've reinvented the experience to combine exceptional craftsmanship with peace of mind. No standardized sizes that don't really fit anyone. No orders placed into a void. Instead: personal support, a transparent process, and a dress created solely for you, inch by inch.

Here, with complete transparency, is how your dress comes to life.

Why We Said Goodbye to Standard Sizes (S, M, L)

Let's be honest: a wedding dress has nothing to do with a sweater ordered on a Friday night. It's the most important piece in your wardrobe. The one you'll look at in photos and smile — or grimace.

Standard sizes (S, M, L) assume that all women of the same "build" have the same body shape. It's a fiction. Two women in size 38 can have radically different waist circumferences or bust lengths.

The reality? A dress cut for an "average" figure will float on one and constrict the other. The result: stress and a fit that is never quite right.

That's why we have eliminated standard sizes. Every dress is constructed based on your actual measurements. Because your dress should adapt to you, not the other way around.

Step 1: Placing Your Order and Taking Measurements

The question that comes up most often: "What if I don't have my measurements when I order?"

No need to panic. You can confirm your favorite dress today without having taken your measurements.

The process: The day after you place your order, our stylist will contact you by email. She will send you a simple, illustrated measurement guide. She will be there to confirm your figures and reassure you at every step.

Step 2: The Magic Happens in Our Artisanal Atelier

Once the measurements are confirmed, creation begins. And this is where our expertise truly shines. There is no generic pattern: yours is designed from scratch, exclusively based on your measurements.

Our artisans select the lace, sew the beads, and apply every detail by hand. It's work that takes several weeks, because haste is the enemy of excellence.

Each 3D flower is sewn by hand, petal by petal. A gesture that takes hours — and which is not seen, but felt.

In our atelier, every detail is fixed by hand. What you see here is your dress coming to life.

The pattern is reworked down to the millimeter. No universal template: only your curves, your measurements.

A few examples of our custom-made expertise:

The Mastery of Volume: On our Custom-Made Soft Tulle Dress, custom-made tailoring allows us to perfectly calibrate the skirt and the placement of the 3D flowers to elongate the silhouette without weighing it down.

Absolute Fluidity: The Vintage Boho Oriental Dress requires a perfect fit at the bust. Exact measurements ensure that the flowing fabric hugs the body without ever creating a fold.

The Art of the Neckline: A Bardot neckline does not forgive. On the Romantic Bardot Neckline Dress, we adjust the shoulder line to the millimeter so that it stays perfectly in place while you dance.

Step 3: Complete Transparency (Photos During Creation)

This is the point we care about most. You are not buying a dress in a black box while crossing your fingers.

Our promise: Before shipping, we send you photos — and sometimes videos — of the details of your finished dress. Embroidery, lace, overall fit... You confirm, you are confident. We only ship with your approval.

Each piece is photographed with care — lace, embroidery, fit...

Many brides tell us that this moment — receiving these photos on an ordinary morning and seeing their dress take shape — remains one of the most moving memories of their preparations.

This is particularly reassuring on pieces requiring intense precision work, like our sublime Luxury Princess Dress with Artisanal Butterflies, where every detail counts.

Step 4: Fitting at Home and Final Alterations

Your dress arrives carefully packaged. Thanks to the work done beforehand on your measurements, it should fit you like a second skin from the first fitting.

But we know that the body changes with the stress of preparations. That's why each dress is constructed to facilitate local micro-adjustments.

The corset lacing is one of the most adjustable elements of a custom-made dress — designed to adapt to your silhouette on the big day.

Good news for your peace of mind: If a small dart needs to be taken or a hem adjusted for your shoes, any qualified local seamstress can easily do it. Our patterns are designed for this, and our stylist remains at your disposal to guide you.

Quirky behind-the-scenes of an Atelier Mariage shoot: the creative team and the model in a white tulle boho dress pose together, between two shots, in a free and complicit atmosphere
Because boho is also this: a passionate team that lives creation to the fullest. Between two shots, the magic continues.

Behind every dress, there is a team that believes in it — people who debate the drape of a fabric, the curve of a neckline, the shine of an embroidery. A free and demanding energy at the same time. It is this boho spirit, without compromise on quality, that you wear on your wedding day.

A perfect fit reveals the full power of a silhouette, as evidenced by our Multilayer Satin & Tulle Princess Dress model — a piece that transforms every wear into a statement.
