You are magnificent. Your curves are an asset, not a hindrance. And you deserve a wedding dress that makes you feel as beautiful as you truly are.
The plus-size bohemian wedding dress is not a compromise - it's a celebration of your femininity, your natural elegance, your confidence.
This bride perfectly illustrates how a dress can enhance a fuller figure. The delicate lace follows the curves without constricting them, and the airy tulle sleeves add a touch of bohemian romance. Elegance has no size—it has an attitude.
Why is bohemian style perfect for plus sizes?
Bohemian style wasn't invented for plus sizes. But it's as if it were.
Cuts that are naturally flattering
Bohemian style favors flowing silhouettes, lightweight fabrics, and cuts that follow the body without clinging. Exactly what flatters curvy figures.
Empire waists naturally flatter the stomach. A-line silhouettes create a balanced look. Flowing dresses drape elegantly without emphasizing curves.
Comfort without compromising on elegance
Bohemian style favors soft, natural materials: silk chiffon, lightweight tulle, delicate lace, and flowing crepe. These fabrics breathe. They move with you rather than constrain you.
The free spirit that celebrates all silhouettes
Bohemian style is the antithesis of convention. It's a style that celebrates individuality, authenticity, and natural beauty. For women with fuller figures, it's liberating.
Look how the empire waist transforms this silhouette. The high waist naturally flatters the tummy, and the sweetheart neckline beautifully enhances a full bust. It's exactly the desired effect: elegant, comfortable, and gorgeous.

Bohemian cuts that flatter plus sizes
The empire cut: to conceal and enhance
The perfect cut for O and H body shapes. The waist sits just below the bust. The fabric then flows to the floor without being tight. Your tummy is smoothed, your bust is enhanced, and you're comfortable.
The A-line/trapezoid: universally flattering
If you're unsure, choose line A. The dress is fitted at the top, then gradually flares out. This shape creates perfect visual balance.
The flowing dress: effortless elegance
Ultra-lightweight fabrics that drape gracefully without clinging. Curves are suggested rather than displayed.

Romantic bohemian dress with puff sleeves
The puffed sleeves create a romantic volume that balances an A-line figure. The delicate lace provides structure without being stiff. This dress is custom-made to fit your unique silhouette.

The plunging V: your best ally
The V-shape creates a vertical line that visually lengthens the figure. It slims the neck, enhances the décolletage, and draws the eye towards the face. Flattering for O, H, and V body shapes.
The heart: a sublime, generous bosom
It enhances without overexposing. It creates soft, feminine curves. Perfect for A, X, and O body shapes.
The square: universal and elegant
It opens up the chest without being provocative. It is suitable for religious ceremonies. It works with all body types.
The details that change everything
The belt: to define your waist
For H or O body shapes, a belt creates the illusion of a defined waist. Wear it at the natural waist to accentuate it, or under the bust to minimize the tummy.
The sleeves: puffed, long, 3/4
Puff sleeves : Romantic volume, balances an A-shaped figure.
Long lace sleeves : Cover the arms with sheer elegance.
3/4 sleeves : Cover the upper part of the arms, flattering for almost everyone.

Bohemian chiffon dress with off-the-shoulder neckline
The ultra-lightweight chiffon creates the characteristic fluidity of bohemian style. The skirt falls gracefully without clinging. Perfect for confident brides who want an airy and free-spirited look.

Recommended materials (and those to absolutely avoid)
Muslin, tulle, lace: your allies
Silk chiffon : Ultra-light, incomparable fluidity, THE bohemian fabric.
Lightweight tulle : Airy and romantic, it creates volume without weighing it down.
Delicate lace : Elegant texture without visual weight.
Fluid crepe : Drapes beautifully, doesn't wrinkle, comfortable.
Satin and Mikado: to be avoided
Satin : Glossy, reflects light, highlights EVERY flaw. Avoid it.
Mikado : Rigid, adds volume, creates a square silhouette.
Golden rule : The more fluid and matte the fabric, the more flattering it is.
⚠️ Example of a haircut to avoid
The image below shows a dress with too much volume, an unsuitable cut and a stiff fabric that does not flatter generous curves.
Examples of what to avoid: too much volume, an ill-fitting princess cut, and stiff fabric. Excessive volume, layers of stiff tulle, and the absence of a vertical line all contribute to weighing down the silhouette. This is why bespoke tailoring and personalized advice are essential.
Our plus-size bohemian made-to-measure collection
At Atelier Mariage, we don't have a physical store. We don't accept walk-ins. All our energy is focused on one thing: creating your perfect dress.
Our tailor-made philosophy
When you place your order, you enter your measurements online. Then our team takes over.
At Atelier Mariage, bespoke tailoring isn't just about reproducing a model in your measurements. It's about creating a dress FOR YOU.
If our stylist notices that a modification would improve the result - a belt placed differently, an adjusted neckline, a modified length - we will contact you to discuss it.
The goal: to make YOUR wedding dress , the one that is better suited to YOUR figure than any other.
Our plus size collection

Important : this collection is not exhaustive. It is not a limited selection of "plus-size women's styles".
It's a source of inspiration. A starting point.
At Atelier Mariage, ALL our styles are available for all body types. Love a dress that's not in this collection? Perfect. Order it. We'll tailor it to your figure.
Want to mix and match elements from several dresses? The top of this one, the skirt of that one, the sleeves of a third? That's exactly the kind of customization we love to do.
How to take your measurements correctly?
Measurements are the foundation of everything. Precise measurements = a perfect dress.
The essential measures
1. Bust measurement : at the fullest point, while wearing a bra
2. Waist measurement : at the natural waist (where you bend)
3. Hip measurement : at the widest point
4. Chest height : from the shoulder to the highest point of the breast
5. Total length : from shoulder to floor (with your shoes on)
How to take them
Get some help. Use a flexible measuring tape. Don't pull it too tight. Don't cheat. Take the measurements in your underwear.
Crucial advice : If you're hesitating between two sizes, choose the larger one. You can always tighten it, but never loosen it.
Frequently Asked Questions
What size should I order?
You are not ordering a "size". You are entering your exact measurements (in cm).
Our dresses are custom-made based on your measurements, not a standard S/M/L size. That's why they're so comfortable – they're made FOR YOU.
Is a laced back sufficient if my weight changes?
The laced back provides approximately 5 kg of flexibility.
If you anticipate weight fluctuations, definitely choose a model with adjustable laces rather than a zip closure.
For significant changes (more than 5-7 kg): stabilize your weight 4-5 months before, then order 3 months before the big day.
Important : Our dresses are handcrafted creations made with very tight seam allowances. If you are unsure whether you can maintain a stable weight for 3 months (a variation of less than 5 kg), or if you insist on a zipper closure, we advise you to wait until you have reached this stability before ordering. It's in your best interest and ours.
How long before?
Ideally, 3-4 months for peace of mind. Minimum 10 weeks (with an additional charge for express delivery).
Delivery and returns?
Delivery : 10-12 weeks. Free delivery within mainland France.
Returns : Custom-made dresses cannot be returned (they are created specifically for you). That's why we communicate throughout the process to ensure the dress is perfect.
Can I modify an existing model?
Absolutely! It's even encouraged. Adding sleeves? Changing the neckline? Altering the length? Adjusting the back? This is exactly the kind of customization we do every day.
Are you ready to find your dress?
Your curves are not an obstacle. They are your asset.
A plus-size bohemian wedding dress isn't a compromise—it's a celebration of who you truly are. A beautiful, confident woman who deserves a dress that reflects her beauty.
Because in the end, the most beautiful wedding dress is the one that makes you feel as beautiful as you truly are.
